As Constable Jan Ferris on Da Vinci's City Hall (aka Da Vinci's Inquest), Simone portrayed the reckless leader of a gang of renegade cops (based on true events). Series writer/creator Chris Haddock was so impressed with Simone’s performance that a one-episode part was written into a regular role for the entire series. In preparation, Simone rode along with police officers to the roughest areas in the city, witnessing first-hand the many dangers and realities of being a cop. Born in Calgary and influenced by her jazz musician grandfather, Simone took piano lessons and sang in a jazz choir performing in hotels during the holidays --this later led to Simone joining a hip hop/funk/jazz band, recording, and performing on tour and at The Vancouver International Jazz Fest. In her teens, she went from skipping school to go play pool, to graduating with Honors. She received a scholarship for her achievements in the arts, athletics and her volunteer work.
